I always keep my small dog on a lead unless I'm in the park & there's no other dogs around. We've been attacked twice now & I'm starting to get scared. Example: In park on lead, 2 dogs off lead gallop over to us. My dog growls & fur hackles, dogs retaliate so I pick my dog up & try to fend off other dogs. Why does this happen? I love dogs & don't want to hurt any, but the other day I took a can of hairspray to the park with us for protection. Could I harm a dog by spraying them with it?
